This noren's design comes from Mt. Daisen in Tottori Prefecture. Mr. & Mrs. Okada's hobby is
mountain climbing, and they often climb their favorite mountain. The family asked Yoko Kano for
a design based on a photograph of Mt. Daisen's north face in the light of the sunset. The north and
south faces of the mountain are very similar, so their noren can be seen in two ways. It could
represent sunset on the north side of the mountain or sunrise on the opposite side. This time, their noren is a blue and white world expressing the bitter cold of Mt. Daisen in mid-winter.
