Murakami Seed Shop
Murakami Seed Shop was established in 1912 as a place to buy daily necessities. A noren with five vegetables in bright, popping colors hangs over the door. The upper and lower halves of each vegetable are dyed in different patterns to create the image of vegetables sprouting from the ground and being showered by sunshine. Because the noren is very short, it is easy for people to see inside the shop. This store also sells the local newspaper, the Sanyo Shinbun, so it opens the earliest of any store in town. |
