This noren's design comes from the image of a barber's comb. This is the fourth noren with this design the shop has ordered, but each one is a different color. It's fun to try to guess what color will be next! The current shopkeeper's mother, Yukie, opened Koyuki Barber Shop 50 years ago. These days, the shopkeeper also makes buckwheat noodles as a hobby.
Recently, sightseeing tours have begun to stop in front of this store so the guides can explain the comb design to tourists. It has become a point of interest along the Katsuyama sightseeing route.
