A passage from the lyrics sung during Katsuyama's Bon Festival Dance, the Chiyomanzai-hounen (Eternal Wish for Good Harvests), is written on this noren. The Chiyomanzai-hounen Preservation Committee currently has about 70 members. It has overseen dance after dance
for 280 – 300 years. The noren features a large white area surrounded by dark blue. The
owner of the house asked a friend who lives in town to write lyrics about Katsuyama taken
from the Bon Dance's song directly on the noren in calligraphic ink. The gentle characters
seem to dance as they sway in the breeze.
