Harada Residence
This noren resembles the layered mountains of Katsuyama when viewed from the banks of the
Asahi River in the early morning. This noren is their third, and was chosen last year by Mrs.
Harada during the annual noren exhibition at the Hinoki Kusaki Dying and Weaving Gallery.
Katsuyama consolidated with other nearby towns to form Maniwa City. Eighty-five percent of
Katsuyama's total area is forest. The surrounding mountains produce high quality cedar and
Japanese cypress trees. The Harada family's previous noren featured layers of these mountains.
