Takeo Mizushima Residence
Katsuyama's spring and autumn are expressed on this noren which blends a blooming cherry tree
with bright fall leaves. The history of Katsuyama is alive in the Mizushima family, which has lived
in this town for more than twenty generations. The neighborhood around the Naka Bridge was full of boatmen in the days when the river was used for transportation. The center of Katsuyama in those days is now called Naka-machi. In that place, there used to be a market which was opened every month. A boatman's hut and stone wall still exist there. |
