In Katsuyama, flowers bloom on the sandbar in the Asahi River and announce the coming of spring.
This noren's design is based on the river at this time of the year. They also have a noren with a Nakao family crest design. Mrs. Nakao is very talented at chirimen-zaiku (crepe crafts) and puts out displays of home-made dolls during the annual Hina Doll Festival. The family believes that each house has its own unique noren or display of Hina Dolls. This is a good example of the warm welcome at the heart of Katsuyama.
