The Katsuyama Townscape Support Association
The second round of restoration work on the preservation area was begun in 1993 and finished in 1997. That year, the local volunteers who believed that noren were also a vital part of the scenery of Katsuyama formed the Townscape Support Association. They currently enliven the town with many events, including noren stamp rallies and homemade soba noodle parties. The free rest area Kazantei has become the Association's unofficial headquarters. It's full of memorabilia related to past events and festivals held in Katsuyama. |
