Sankyo Shoken was established in 1955. They handle plumbing, gas and building renovation. The head of the company was the one who came up with the idea of hanging noren over the doors in town. He works very hard to raise the town's spirit and to encourage more townspeople to hang noren over their doors as the chairman of the Katsuyama Townscape Support Association. This very traditional white and red spring plum noren was designed to be hung during the annual Hina Doll Festival. Since Katsuyama has become filled with beautiful noren , it seems as though there are many more people coming to visit.
