The Hishio Center for Cultural Exchange
Originally constructed in 1942, this former Kiyotomo Soy Sauce warehouse was remodeled into the current facility. The center takes its name from hishio, one of the important ingredients used to make soy sauce. This name also carries the nuance of "creating new culture" within the building's walls. The hall and courtyard are available for rent, and concerts, theatrical performances or seminars are often held there. The coffeehouse Cafe Uenodan is nestled inside the hall.
